What time limit to use for OCI?

Is it alright to run the same oil for 9 or 10 months if it takes that long to reach 3k miles?

I believe Ford still says 3 months for severe service and 6 months normal service if you don't get to the mileage by that point. Seems like a good idea, especially if your vehicle is under warranty.

Thanks for reminding me mikemc. I forgot about the warranty considerations. Got my oil changed today with MC 5w-20 at the dealership. I'll go with 6 mo. OCI's with whatever the mileage is.
