700 hours without a rebuild is pretty amazing. If things look clean under the valve cover, and the engines run well, find out what the previous owner used, buy that, then let us know.
Otherwise there are plenty of good multi-vis 40 weight oils you could/should try. Straight 40 weight will be a little tougher to find.
Uh, 700 hours is nothing if the engine is maintained. Those engines could easily go 1200-2000 hours before a top end job. Depends what they are pushing. As for 40w Pennzoil Marine or Delo or Delvac will do fine. Walmarts carry Pennzoil 40w and any West Marine will have Pennzoil or Delo 40w. BTW, if your West Marine doesn't have it they will order it for you.
