I have been hearing a lot of good things about shell rotella Dino oil! what makes this oil better than other Dino oils? What special additive does it have to make it a better oil? I know it is for diesel engines but I see many people use it in thier gas engines and love it.

I don't know that it is any better, no special additive in there that I'm aware of. Actually, if one were to compare VOAs of the popular HDEO 15W-40s (and this has been done fairly recently, see http://home.earthlink.net/~memphis3/boatoilsweb.htm for one such compilation), one might be forced to conclude that on paper, Valvoline Premium Blue is the best oil, especially since Pennzoil has reformulated LL and dumped the moly. Lots and lots of satisfied users of Chevron Delo, though, which doesn't have moly, either. In short, most if not all of the 15W-40 HDEOs are pretty good; just make sure your vehicle is happy with that viscosity!
