Hi, I got an injector cleaning tool like this

What kind of cleaner is best for injectors? How about intake valves on GDI engines? I know companies like BG make specific chemicals for this task, and I'm willing to use them, but if is something simple like xylene I'd rather not pay the ridiculous markup. I was thinking lacquer thinner with some Schaeffer's Neutra might be a good option.

Berrymans B 12 It has Toluene It's only 3.17 for a 15 oz can at any WalMart ,

I'm glad i looked on here today i am going to get one of those injector tools

This, Berrymans makes a great carb cleaner as well.

OK sounds like B12 might be the way to go.

Any thoughts for cleaning coked up intake valves on GDI engines and diesels? That stuff is VERY persistent!

I am unsure if this is the same we used at the dealership when I worked there. The can is certainly different. If it is the same Motorcraft injector flush fluid we used, then it is very very good. Fixed a lot of rough idles/ misses on older pre '91 injected vehicles that were pre DRI (deposit resistant injector) models.
