In order to read resistance you apply a known voltage and measure the drop caused by circuit impedance. A Wheatstone bridge is a high accuracy voltmeter. In reading the description they are using this device to accurately determine the health of most likely, motor windings, shorted windings in mostly polyphase applications. The explanations on the sale site leaves something to be desired. Still an interesting piece of early technology. I was looking for any sign of Frankenstein's monster lurking about.
