Can I get the technical data on this oil the way Mobil1 and the others list theirs? I'd like to see the whole list (VI, Flash, NOACK, etc.) Thanks.

You are one demanding Audi Fahrer; I'll try to give you the data:

Is NOACK a GC mystery? Is all that we know for GC evaporative loss is that it is <13 % ?

I don't think Noak is known but I'd assume it's very very low. Probably around 6%.

I would probably have been more correct to say that VI = CLXXIX

My crude tests showed that GC's volatility is approx. same as M1 10W-30 EP which has a NOACK in the neighborhood of 7.5%. I cannot give exact values but am confident that GC's NOACK is in this range(6-9% to be safe). I know for certain it is more volatile than Redline 10W-30 and much less volatile than M1 0W-40 (NOACK of about 11%) and Valvoline 5W-40 (also about 11%) and approximately equal to the new Syntec 10W-40.
So sorry I can't give official values that people want but at least you have an idea.

"And for those of you that care to take a look : www.maximausa.com"

Please don't presume that a drop in VI is indicative of a lesser oil...it is not. It could, in fact, indicate an even better base oil than The Green.

in another post bruce381 states the VI of gold GC is 166.

this is a big drop from 179. if true, there must be more going on with the gold than just additive changes. *cough*[grp III]*cough*.

please convince me otherwise because I'd like to buy some gold with confidence that I'm not being ripped off by the castrol marketing machine.

Guys data sheet info WILL varry. AND lab to lab testing will vary DO NOT TAKE ANY data sheet info as gospel.
bruce
And IMHO GC Noack will be <6%

I did a search, but couldn't find much. Does anyone know what the 40 C and 100 C viscosities are for the gold GC?
Thanks.
