Barium is ususally in the form of a Barium Sulfonate.
It is a multi-functional additive used as:
1. Soot detergent (in some diesel oils)
2. Metal Protector and anti-rust
Barium is also used in liquid and spray-on metal protectors.

Mola, Can it be used to suspend contaminates as well. I was thinking that it is added to ATF to suspend clutch particles??? Am I way off base?
