Has anyone else noticed the loading bar on your computer continually running while being here on BITOG? even after the page is already loaded.

Normally yes but after reading this post it stopped.

Must be the FBI tracking me. Or maybe the Secret Service or Illuminati after me.

Yes, it just started doing that within the last week. Kind of annoying to see the green circle spinning around on every open tab (Firefox), but more annoying to stop loading every page I open, so I've just been putting up with it, hoping it's temporary.

Yes, I use firefox and when I'm just sitting on the home page the green circle is going around and the word connecting is shown. As soon as I click on a thread and it loads, the circle disappears and a small square with the word Bob on it replaces it.

Update: I just went into a Mitsubishi forum I'm on and it does the same thing...

Yes I noticed that as well. It just started doing that within the past week. I also use Firefox with adblock and haven't noticed it doing that at any site other than here. Thanks for bringing it up as I was getting concerned myself. I began logging out and closing the browser when done here because I didn't know if something nefarious was going on.

When you open www.bobistheoilguy.com, it is attempting to run ads with "Read s0.2mdn.net"
Resolution in Mozilla: Disable java script. (java is needed if you login and reply to posts, but not needed to read posts)

Thanks - I just tried this.
It is very odd to me that you would have to know the name of a service to get it. Why not show a complete list of what's available. Bizarre!

Most dynamic sites these days are loaded with so terribly many external files - everything from simple javascripts to style sheets on up to analytic and user-tracking services from third parties. Often these files get loaded after the actual "stuff" that you see and interact with, and sometimes these often imperceptible things hang or are not available at that instant or simply don't load for any host of reasons. This does not necessarily stop the page from working, but might leave your browser "loading" animations in a perpetually "loading" state.
