No AM, any canteen would be bigger and needs a wider mouth.
Field cleaning a canteen involves swishing with sand and water. That ain't happening with that dinky little thing.
I would not restore it, it will only be original once. I would not go any further than a light rub with a cloth or very soft brush to remove any loose grime, crud, etc. It is a survivor that earned its patina.
