what happens to returned defective items? (fan)

They gave me a new hose then told me to just cut the ends off any others that might fail and just bring them the hose ends. I don't know what they did with the hose ends..LOL! I'm still using that replacement, but if this one ever fails I'll know what to do.....if Sears stays in business.

The Craftsman brand is now owned by Stanley Black & Decker. Sears has a long-term contract to still sell them, but I believe that Stanley has accepted the warranty liability.

I don't know what might happen if they absolutely don't have a replacement. There are some Craftsman items where there is zero chance of finding a replacement because they're no longer made.
