You're 71?!?!?!
I am right here; usually checking in to lurk (apparently without getting automagically signed in) once or twice a week in the evening.
I am very, very busy this time of year as I am involved with a network of community gardens in my area (
http://wegarden.ca). Mystic, if you think I drive you nuts with my advocacy for open-source software, you should hear me yammer until the cows come home about the wonders of community gardens!
I do not presume to be in possession of any knowledge or opinions worth posting anywhere other than Computers or General & Off-Topic, so I don't; remaining grateful that there is such a wealth of knowledge just sitting there for the taking!
Sometimes people take breaks from message boards for various reasons - I know I have taken a week or two away from this and other places on the web if discourse (of which I am always a part) becomes unproductive - and it is sure unsettling when people we feel like we got to know just up and disappear; and even worse when they seem to be replaced with members that might lower the quality of the boards. I sure like it here and never come away from time here dumber; and that is valuable. As soon as we start picking veggies instead of weeds I will have some more time to be less passive.

I've been checking my mail box every darn day waiting for my "10 YEAR" pin.
EDIT: 9 YEAR. I woulda sworn I asked a few stupid questions here in '05. Maybe they were stupid enough that I changed my "handle" and re-registered?

Yes you did! I am just the only one who knew it.
Thanks for expressing your concern and implying you have found some of my output and some of our exchanges useful. It made my day. I hereby and forthwith resolve to be easier to get along with.
