Yes it's rotation time. You didn't say if this is FWD or RWD but I'm betting it's FWD.

+1 from your photos it just looks like you need to do your rotation.

Is there uneven wear, or are the fronts just more worn than the rears? I can't tell from the pictures.

If your car is front wheel drive:

The front tires do:
100% of propulsion
100% of steering
about 70% of braking
and carry about 60% of the weight

The rear tires do:
0% of propulsion
0% of steering
about 30% of braking
and carry about 40% of the weight

Your pics don't tell much.

Run the flat of your hand forwards and backwards on the tread, with light pressure. Is there a difference in feel one way versus the other?

For instance,
is the tread "sharper" (up and down with a directional bias like saw teeth) in one direction rather than the other?
is it more saw-tooth-like on the inboard edge rather than the outboard?
is it saw-tooth-like on both sides equally?
does the saw-tooth pattern vary every few inches (sort of a wave pattern)?

Sorry the pictures weren't helpful enough guys, I assumed that the extra wear on the edges of the treads would be telling enough. Regardless, I just got a call back from the service department and they said they rotated the tires and also checked the alignment but apparently it wasn't necessary.

About 5,000.

Is it 4WD or AWD? If it is AWD it is most likely driving like a FWD vehicle 90% of the time(if not more). If it is 4WD then odd are it is running the rear tires unles you engage the front end.
