I've gotta do a Timing belt and water pump on my friends 2003 Elantra. and was wondering what coolant to use in this ?
The Zerex Chart says to use Dex-Cool, but Dex-Cool is a OAT coolant. The Asian formula coolant with Hyundai approval says it is a HOAT coolant. So do I use G-05, Dex-Cool, or Toyota Pink ?

Thanks,
Justin

I'm changing everything I've got over to Peak Global lifetime.

I've done my Toyota and now my GMC truck.

It seems to be a good safe "every vehicle" coolant. I personally think that if you do a good flush, ANY of these "all colors/all makes" coolant will work fine as long as its a 3year 36000 mile interval between flushes.

Take care, bill

Don't believe the Zerex chart-it says all newer Asian imports use Dexcool, which is probably the last coolant you would want in it (not compatible), use Zerex's new Asian Vehicle Coolant (if you can find it), Toyota Red or Super Long Life, or Peak Global (once again, if you can find it!)

I totally agree with bullwinkle. I don't like Zerex's chart and makes me not even want to use their anti-freeze. I like Peak's better. A lot of the generic all makes and all models except for Peak Global is just a chep version of Dexcool.

I just bought Zerex Asian Formula at Napa for $9/gallon. Says right on the bottle that it meets the Hyundai/Kia spec, and it is a HOAT coolant. Only place I have found it is at Napa, so try that.

I'm pretty sure hyundais all take conventional green coolant.

Thats also what my 09 came with.
