it just had a $47K renovation inside...now it needs paint outside to match. Thinking maybe light brown, light gray. maybe thinking of painting over the bricks, but undecided as of yet. white or cream trim. accent color on front door and garage, not sure and not really any ideas but my girlfriend wants it to offset. oh and the 2010 Rav4 2.5 is running dealer bulk oil and a Toyota filter. The 2007 Kia Rondo 2.4 is running MC 5w20 and a Kia filter. laugh

By ls1mike at 2009-12-19 If you can look past the truck and trailer, this is my old house. It is a mocha type color with colonial white trim. It has a smaller amount of brick on the bottom but I assume your are looking for something like this.

I'm wondering about a light yellow. I'm wondering if some shutters would look good perhaps green. I would consider painting the concrete below the bricks, but i would not paint the bricks. If you paint the bricks, you will be making a maintenance item out of low maintenance item!

Texas heat? Keep the colors light, the house will stay a bit cooler, and the lighter colors don't fade in that hot sun as fast. Oh yea, if you're looking to lower the value of the house then by all means paint the brick. no-no

My wife is good at color choices, she says a pale green on the siding (sage green). Trim light suede brown or tan. She said something about keeping the same color pallete but my brain shut down then. A couple of large plant pots in sage green near the front door would help pull the color down from upstairs and break up the brick a little. Yellow would make it look like a McDonald's. We both agree on not painting the bricks.

I like this.

I'd treat the upstairs as a separate building, and go with a yellow, with a grey trim that matches the roofing. Then a paler yellow for the doors, with the same yellow as the upstairs for the trim. Would leave the bricks, although "bagging" the bricks with mortar and painting over in "mexican" type colours is pretty common these days.

I think a light gray would complement the red bricks. Paint the trim on the brick portion the color of the top and paint the garage and front door a deep red. Look at the left half of this house Or the idea for light green might look good too If you went with a cream color, you should consider doing red trim
