What car? most reliable used cars in the UK

Most interesting is the greater reliability of gasoline (petrol) versions compared to diesel versions of the same car. I would have thought the opposite would have been true. Here in the US, diesels are mainly in light trucks, not cars, and have more of a reputation of being bulletproof and lasting much longer.

Maybe diesel cars never were the panacea a lot of people thought they would be.

They used to be all mechanical, so electrical issues didn't stop them. That's why they were more reliable. Now all they have going for them is durability, but they've started making them lighter and they don't last forever anymore. They're not all made the same though, some still last a good long time.

Alfa piques my curiosity, most reviews here of recent Giulia's are surprisingly good. I don't think the Giulietta is sold in the US or do they call it the Stelvio here? Looks very similar.

The dodge dart was based on the Giulietta. I think they threw away all the good bits though

Co-worker is a big Alfa fan. He owns a Alfa 159 Sportwagon turbo diesel. A really great looking car with, so far, very good reliability. He use it as a daily driver.

We both are the "automobile rebels", his Alfa 159 and my Honda S2000 are really stick out in a uniform ocean of Audis, VW, Skoda and BMW at the parking lot of our company. :)
