No candy. Grammy had a box with cookies instead, no candy. Inside it were fresh oatmeal raisin cookies or when they were gone...

Fig Newtons.

Ill have to check next time I go over. They have a candy drawer filled with licorice allsorts and similar things, and a jar with oreos for when the fresh-made cookies are out.

Certs...wow those take me back. Before church on Sundays as a kid when I was sleeping over for the weekend at my grandmas she would give me rolls of certs all the time and/or a roll of breath savers and even Mentos. I also remember lots of Smarties...

When I was a little kid and I'd go to the local mom and pop drugstore in town my mom would always let me pick out one candy and I'd always go for the Chuckles. I didn't like the liquorice flavored Chuckle in the package and mom liked them so I'd always give her the liquorice ones. Also sometimes gummy lifesavers and bubble tape chewing gum. And how could I forget Fruit Stripe gum!
