We saw them LIVE on the tour they did to promote that album. They were a very tight and hard playing band at that time. I think that is before they were talked into doing all of those sappy love ballads they ended up having fights between the member over. Same old thing with many bands. Fights that end the initial magic due to different opinions over the musical direction.
I never saw Styx in concert ... wish I would have back in the late 70s when they were the best of their times.

They were really hot then. I kind of lost interest once they made some changes and started going for the radio love song type of stuff.
I read a while back T. Shaw is still out there playing several shows a year.
I saw STYX at the Anaheim Convention Center somewhere about ~1979. You know I was underwhelmed. I had that album too. Long gone.

I hated that group
These were the best Styx albums ... I don't really care for the others albums outside these except for a few songs on a few. Of course "Lady" on Styx II was one of their first big hits. After Paradise Theater they started going in a direction I didn't like.
Those are fantastic albums!
I remember watching a behind the music a long time ago and Tommy Shaw was talking about the “Mr Roboto”/“Kilroy Was Here” period. “Mr Roboto” was the nail in the coffin when it came to the divisions in STYX. (Tommy Shaw’s ideas and Dennis DeYoung’s ideas)
They were playing a show with other bands and they were on after Sammy Hagar. Sammy had a Trans-Am on stage, was rocking out, drinking, and basically doing what Sammy Hagar does. Tommy said that Sammy Hagar had the crowd so fired up, that he thought the crowd was going to kill them when they went out to put on this “Mr Roboto” play that Dennis had created. Tommy quit the band after that.
Of course now, it’s Tommy that keeps STYX going. Dennis is talented, and was a huge part in getting STYX to where they were, but he went off the rails with the concept albums.

I went into the tv room and my wife was watching a Halmark movie, and.................................and it was Xmas in July on that channel. So this popped into my head to listen to, again.
