it's been awhile but let me just recap my experience awhile back
just did a turkey baster drain/refill in the Dex III for my PS fluid in my BMW with Amsoil Univeral ATF ) - this is the older single formulation.
It was noisey and very made the steering very loose (which is complete opposite of BMW) in general. I then went to the local Autozone, figuring factory OEM was Castrol. I swapped this out and while it did lessen the noise a little bit, it was still there.
So off on a whim, I decided to use M1 Syn Dex III which did the trick. Was happy I found the right fluid and never looked back. As a matter of fact, I picked up 3 bottles when I read that their Universal ATF was switching up.
I plan to do a similar task now ...and was curious, what are the thicker/thickest viscosity Dex III on the market these days.
