I’d probably go to 13 or 14mm in 1/4”. I prefer to wrench with 1/4 when I can.5.5-12mm in 1/4”
7-19mm in 3/8”
14 - 34mm in 1/2”
36mm if you plan to remove an E30 front hub or VW Bug rear axle nut.

outside of america nobody used 3/8 until pretty recentlyUse 1/4" drive up to 13mm, then 1/2" for 14mm and larger sizes. Just exclude 3/8" drive altogether. Not uncommon in Europe and UK.
