I was reading this thread on Washingtongasprices.com, and I was a little startled by the oil change plan presented in the 4th post (3rd from the bottom). I'm not going to argue with anyone over there, that's way too much of a hassle. I'm just interested in what you guys think of that plan.

OK, so he is talking 50-100k for an oil change. Wow. I wonder what exactly he is basing this on. Ony UOA's or a bypass filter setup?
The Synlube he links to does not really say anything about extended OCI. It is also vague on how much to add to oil.

That was a painful read, yet I couldn't pull my eyes away!

He used the word "lubricity" in his post.

He sounds like he knows what he's talking about, but further inspection reveals that 50K per OCI is silly unless the engine is a diesel.

I'll let people like Terry or Mola talk to me about lubricity, not this guy. I feel bad for his poor engine...

At first I thought to myself, "This might be a good forum." Then I started reading around, and decided that I'm not going to spend much time over there. Much more automotive knowledge on this site!
