Nearing the end of my GC stash frown. It has served VERY well in the Quest with the VQ35DE as verified by T. Dyson and his superb analysis/intepretation. This engine (in general, not just mine) is a "hot" runner and has literally toasted lesser oils in no time, especially the "thinner" ones. My question: purchased 4 jugs of PP 5w-30 on sale for the Tacoma, should I also try in the van? Think it will degrade quickly (current OCIs of 7-8K) or spiral my wear numbers? Stick with the GC (I can get it for about the same $$ when on sale at AZ)? Obviously I will verify through analysis (maybe this answers the question) but want to avoid any "pitfalls up front. TIA.

Not necessarily going for the value aspect as much as getting a good solid performer like the GC. Terry alluded to the T-5 being a sleeper and may use this in the truck. I think the T-6 will be alittle too "thick" and mileage will take a dive.
