5.5 Wet / Dry Vac. Approximately 4 years old. Not used a ton.
Recently sounds like it is overworking, way too loud, like something is stuck in the hose (nothing I checked).
Filter is newish.
Any thoughts?

See if the ball is stuck.
Does it have a check valve ( some do in case you fill it with water ) in the lid? Make sure it's not stuck.
The ball (it is a like a puck) was my first thought too, and that is what it sounds like.
Would the check valve be obvious to spot?

Or the bushings/bearings are about shot in the motor, which is common with these. Mine pretty much go up in smoke every few years and have to be replaced.
