I was always really impressed with Schaeffer's products but where do I buy 1 tube... a case is about 3 lifetimes worth for me.

Look at the water washout rating. Usually ASTM D-1264: "Water Washout @ 79°C (175°F), loss, weight %"

Here are the rating for some of the greases mentioned from their Technical Data Sheets:
  • Bel-ray waterproof grease: 4.2 %
  • Lucas marine: 2.75 %
  • Lucas X-tra heavy duty: 10.0%
Also look at copper strip corrosion test (ASTM D4048), and useful temperature range - might have an impact for your brake application. Most marine grease sacrifices high-heat stability in favour of corrosion inhibition and water washout properties.
