I'm in the process of restoring a 1978 Fisher Marine aluminum boat. Today I pulled out the carpet to find that the foam sections that go between the hull and the carpet are completely saturated in water and many of them are full of mold/mildew. I don't know much about foam, but I thought it wasn't supposed to soak up water. My question is, where is the best place to buy sheets of 2in thick foam, and what is the best kind to buy as far as water resistance?
