walmart tire shop experiences

For walmart if I am not in a hurry, I always show up early. That rhymes doesn't it? I drop it off, and come back once its done. Hanging around is an exercise in frustration. I've never had any issues in this regard.

The same applies to Discount Tire, but with them always get an appointment.

WM has the logistics to get the "real" tires from name brands. They just don't generally carry them in stores.

They stock the Goodyear Wrangler while others sell the Wrangler XYZ. They sell the Kumho KU27 which is a "leftover" model that used to sell elsewhere... a "captive generic."

But you can order the "first line" tires you want, and they'll get them to the stores in a couple of days. The semi-store brands are also done by DTD and Pep Boys so WM is competitive in this regard.

Buy them from WM and have Discount Tire install them. I've done this many times buying tires from WM, Ebay, and Amazon.
Why not get the quote from WM and have DT match? They did that for me on a set of online match from Simple tires. I just called and told them the link to the tires and price.

My walmart is ran better than most other shops. I put their goodyear tires on my cheap car (17 Tuscon). I feel I got my monies worth. If you have walmart+ you will get roadhazard for free, if not you pay for it.

I have had them replace a tire under roadhazard and they do it a little different than discount, they are not replacement certificates you get a certain precentage off the tire based on tread depth. I ended up paying 40 or so bucks for them to replace a tire with roadhazard and I was OK with that.

If you drive a cheap car its fine, I wouldn't take anything real nice there though.

I need to have carfax reports and receipts to keep my engine warranty through hyundai so I let them do quaker state $20 oil changes on it as well.
