Stopped into a wal-mart on my way home (never been in this one). Suprisingly carried valvoline maxlife ATF (works in the wifes Odyssey). They only had one bottle left. Asked the guy if they had any more, he checke and said no. Asked me how many I need, I told him a case. He said "i'll order a case now, should be here by saturday" Not too bad, and $1.50 cheaper per/qt than the place I have been getting it.

Order a case? He should be ordering 5 cases. They shouldn't have been out in the first place. It's hard to sell something that is not in stock.

Nonsense. They became huge by offering cheap junk at low prices, good stuff with sometimes low prices and sometimes merely the impression of low prices, terrible employee relations, and by underpricing and driving out local businesses that provided more local pay checks, supported local little league teams, local parks, etc.

People that hate wal mart are just jelous....but I bet they still shop there...heck the FORD UAW here in Louisville shop there and they are none union.....so much for pratice what you preach....

Funny you say that. He showed me on the "gun", where they have only sold like 8 quarts the last three months. He mentioned it is not a very "popular" product, therefore no need to order cases. Remember, this is in rural ND town, not a suburd or major city. Demand would be very low if non-existent. I was just happy to find it.

I agree with Ken2 about Wal Mart! And how do you know he doesn't practice what he preaches? A lot of Wal Mart's workers also receive public assistance like welfare and food stamps. They at one time were informing there new employees on how to apply for that assistance too!

Yeah I'm really Jealous of Wal Mart! I went to a local proprietor the other day to buy a new Mouse for my laptop. Seems I could have saved $5-$6 dollars shopping at Walmart but I try and keep some of our locals in business also. Nothing wrong with shopping there but if I can, I try and help out the mom & pop shops too!

Sorry but I do not need "non skilled" labor employees driving up the cost of goods because they think they need to make a career stocking shelves and want inflated market wages. If people want better wages, make better life decisions and get a "skilled" job.

It was at the Jamestown Wal-mart. There aren't a lot of Walmarts here. I'd say under 10 in the entire state.

Walmart is any different than any other national chain retail store? Unless you shop only at "farmer's markets" and/or from the Amish, it doesn't matter where you buy. I guess I don't get the 'wally' naysayers.

Home Depot is worse. At least at Walmart you expect cheap low quality made in China stuff. At Home Depot is is low quality expensive made in china stuff. But then, at the local hardware store the cheap made in China stuff is way more expensive but the babe at the counter makes the price worth going there.

You got it Steve! Go where ever the counter help is hotter. Stuff like that makes a crusty old BITOGr's day.
