VW504/507 Valvoline on Amazon (Valvoline Euro XL-III 5W-30)

Is the VW508.00/509.00 requirement the only time you've broken from what's required by VW/Audi in a VAG vehicle? I know this is the case with lot's of guys on the VAG boards. Many of them are using 504/507 or 505, 502. Even some dexos2 C3 converts.
My Tiguan spec. VW502.00 I do not use Castrol 0W30 bcs. it is VW502.00, as that spec. is not particularly stringent, but bcs. it is MB229.5 and generally good oil.
Next fill is M1 ESP 0W30, 504/507.

Do they make it in 5-40??
Valvoline in general or Valvoline with VW504 spec? They do make it in 5W-40 but with these specs:

Great price too:

Wait for them to put Valvoline on sale which they do several times a yr. They can order it for you. That's probably where he's getting that $107 price.
Right now they have the "Save %20 on 3 items with the purchase of a $5 bag" sale running.

My NAPA didn't have the bag so they just gave me 20% off.

One of the benefits of cultivating business relationships.

That does not make any sense.
What doesn't?

My understanding of his question is if Valvoline makes a vw504 in 5w40. I wanted to qualify my response with that presumption since the thread is about, primarily vw504.

So I answered "no" not with that spec but "yes" they make a 5w40 "with these specs...", etc.

That combination of specifications is not possible:
MB 229.3 has an ash limit of 0.9-1.5; MB 229.31 is 0.8 maximum.
MB 229.5 is 1.0-1.6 and MB 229.51 is 0.8 maximum.
VW 50200 is 1.0-1.50 but VW50501 is now 0.8 max (thus separating it from 50200/50500).
BMW LL-04 requires ACEA C3 whereas Chrysler MS-12991 requires ACEA A5/B5.

The specifications on the oil do not make any sense.

I bought a 3-pack of that XL-III a couple of months ago from amazon for about $60.
Not for a VW anything, using it in my 00 Camaro, may start using it in my 15 Taurus also.
