Perhaps it's all for the best. No one really ever wanted to look at a "totally ovaled-out" Taurus. If they have no innate creativity, at least they can copy those who do.

At the time the Fusion was designed, Ford OWNED Aston Martin so it's hard to rip off your own designs. Same with Land Rover and the Explorer.

And it's been going on in all industries for years.

The Bensonhurst Bentley (Chrysler 300) ripped off Bentley years ago.
Skechers rips off Nike, Adidas, etc for their shoe designs.
iOS/Android copy each other.
Microsoft rips off the Mac for Windows.
Samsung chases Apple.
How many articles on the 'Net are there for "Get the xxx look for less"?

You couldn't give me the wheels on that Ford. Barrf. Ive traditionally liked Lincolns/Mercurys (still own a Merc) but that thing is just plain hideous. Bentley has nothing to worry about if Lincoln actually goes through with this design from what I can see.

HAHAHAHAH Ford couldn't come up with an original design if someone paid them a trillion dollars to.

Also, the fanboyism in this thread is strong. If you had reversed it and the Lincoln had come out first, and Bentley was releasing the concept, you would all say [censored] like "oh how like a German company to steal things and pretend it's theirs, Ford should sue them. *sets down coffee and iPhone*"

Correct I think its safe to say Ford saved AM.

However AM's design DNA dates way back, Ford borrowed it.

I looked at the story again, and the wheels on the Continental are way too big. Sure, that's the current trend, but c'mon, Ford, you can buck the trend and start your own.
