This filter has about 20,000 miles on it. The filters are said to be lifetime but I decided to change it and take apart the old one. Its Knecht brand fuel fuel. Take a look at the picture and tell me what you think.

I don't know. What color was the filter material when new? My Audi still has the OEM fuel filter installed after 134k miles and almost 9 years. I wish it were easily replaced on my quattro.

I don't know what color the filter media is supposed to be when new. Haven't taken apart a new one before but I'm assuming it would look similar to an oil filter. Actually replacing the fuel filter is not as difficult. However I spent like an hour trying to figure out how to get the line off the filter. There is a quick release tab at each end of the line that goes to the filter. Once figured that out then it was simple.
