Volkswagen brand choked by cost and complexity

I get that vw is a world wide vehicle giant, but you really can slim this down.

Put the current mbq 1.8t or 2.0t in everything. the regular golf steering wheel is fantastic. Pick MT or AT and a color. Save the higher end for audi and porsche. They could sell just a well equipped base model trim only. The base mk7 golf is just heated seats away from perfection.

The current price range on a new Jetta is nuts, 18 to 29k. Just go to one really well chosen package of gear and spam them out like crazy.

I also suggest legitimate emissions passing as a standard feature.

I've been buying cars for 50 years and have had a lot of different brands.
There are two I will never buy again because of bad quality in the past.
Volkswagen and Chrysler.
I now have Asian branded cars and this is where my future cars will come from.
