I understand your fustration... I share some of that too. However, it has a lot to do with the oil company being tested so there are 2 pieces to the puzzle.Read their comments, they don't even know what grade it is. They state that it could be 0W20, 5W20, or even 5W30. What is up with this company?
so is this stuff on par with others in you database?Added to my VOA Database. It lines up pretty closely with PQIA's VOA of the same oil a little over 2 years ago.
You can’t do that.so is this stuff on par with others in you database?
do what?You can’t do that.
Bingo.Looks like an ordinary SP oil. Napa is Valvoline with a different label.
The TBN is weak, but that's also due to the method they use. I would expect 5,000 miles to be a good interval.
The KV100 starts out on the low side of a 30 grade at 9.53 cSt (30 grade = 9.3 - 12.4 cSt) which isn't a bad thing, just worth noting. This oil will likely shear out of grade given the likelihood of a good bit of VII content and being right at the edge.
I think what @kschachn means is you can't compare oils to find the "better" one just by comparing VOAs. There's a lot more to oil that is not represented by a VOA.do what?
I also sent a sample of Valvoline white bottle to compare against this Napa to see if they really are that close to each other. I’ll post that here when it comes in.I did a sample of that oil as well recently with Scheaffer Webscope. They show the V100 on the low side. Here’s mine
Napa blend is not just rebottled Valvoline.
