code:Blackstone Comments: The info slip noted that this virgin sample was a 100% synthetic Motul Gear 300 product, a 75W/90 oil. It contained 1 ppm of aluminum and 2 ppm of lead. In addition to the normal group of oil additives, it also contained 17 ppm of silicon, which is used as an additive in this product. We are not sure why aluminum and lead showed up in this virgin sample of oil. The flashpoint was 395 degrees. Viscosity was okay and no water or any insolubles were present in the sample.
