Ok, I got the two free cases from Brad Penn.

I compared the labels of the "old forumation" I supposedly have and the "new formulation" that was sent and they are different. The front of the bottles are the same, but the back label is different. The "new" bottles have the statement
*Increased levels of "zinc" provide outstanding anti-wear protection etc...

The "old" bottles I have do not state anything about zinc at all.

I am sending a sample of this new case today. I will report back when I get the report.

I am also getting a TBN on this sample.

I'm still very confused by this. My next run of Brad Penn 20w50 (after I use it probably) is due for a used oil analysis...Just seems a little suspicious that their main selling point "ZDDP for all!"...isn't showing up.

Oh well, I'll keep sitting on my case of 20w50, just as my restoration shop sits on my car for almost a year. Don't hold your breath on the used oil analysis...

It is higher, but when I look on BP's website, they state:

Quote:
The Penn-Grade 1® oils “typical” 1,500 ppm Zinc (Zn) and 1340-1400 ppm Phosphorus (P) content...

Still seems low to me?
