Viscosity life

Thinner oil will be picked up and pumped around by the engine easier than heavier oil in cold weather. And yes pouring frozen oils down a slide do show which oil flow easier compared to each other. How is that a bad test?
Pouring oil down a slide does no compare to an engine's oil pump. The pump is Positive Displacement. The "Thick" oil would require more Hp to rotate At the same displacement.
Beakers with a DP pump would fill in the same time.

Let's please stick to the technical aspects of viscosity as this is not a Forum in which to critique youtube videos.

Besides the oil being force fed through the system by the PD pump, oil that is splashed, flinging or draining by gravity does "flow better" than a thicker oil when cold. But still, stick with the recommend "W" rating by the vehicle manufacturer and all will be well. In other words, don't use a 20W-50 in -25F climates.
