A Freebie unsold filter from the parts store.

This filter is not equipped with an ADBV.

looks like the metal end caps disagreed with the press, also seal gasket is too thin IMO.

... also seal gasket is too thin IMO.
Pretty common on many oil filters, and doesn't seem to cause any issue.

Yeah, it's not pretty ... but some would call it a "high quality" filter and "one of the best". 😄

Yeah it's probably fine, I'll also add that this one was by far the easiest filter I've ever cut, one step up from a Budweiser can!

A couple years ago by coincidence I wound up with used red, blue, and boss purolators all the same part #. I cut them open to see the differences and the red can did in fact have thinner can metal. 0.015 inches if memory serves me right. Seems like the blue was .017. I dont recall the boss's can thickness but all the extra weight of the boss is in the base plate. The boss's base plate is almost 1/4 inch thick.

I remember those old yellow can Purolators were so thin that I could smush them in my hand. That always kept me from ever using one.

BY FAR the most important thing on any filter period is that it has metal endcaps. That's ALL That matters...because Youtube. :cautious:

On paper these filters aren't bad, but yikes those end caps look smashed despite the outer can being in tact. Bad.
