Motorcycle guys, I am thinking of doing virgin oil sample tests on motor cycle oils. Was wanting some feedback on if I should focus on 10W-40 oils or 20W-50 oils. It would also include mineral and synthetic oils of the same viscosity. Thanks for any feedback. mikeyoilnutt

I'd have to say the 10W40's because they are more in line with what I need.

My vote is for the 10w-40s. I would love to see a VOA for Torco's synthetic T-4SR. It is a bit pricey, though. Thanks in advance for any that you do.

Go for both, and add the HDEO 15w40s such as Rotella, Delvac, and Delo (may already be done, haven't checked). Include the "oddball" 15W-50 (I'm betting M1 here?) too. Sport Rider did an oil "test" last year I believe but seemed to have some inconsistancies. I've got a whole list of bike oils I'd like to see tested. Let me know if you would like some help with samples, cost, etc.

For UOA, I could contribute Motul 3000 10W-40 after the bike is good and broken in.
