Vintage Kleener oil filter

Mom was cleaning out a drawer in her garage about a week ago and found this. My parents had a 1975 Buick with 350 engine back in the late 70's and I'm sure that's where it was intended to be used. Box is decent, base plate has just a little bit of surface rust. No way am I going to cut it. A couple of things caught my attention. I thought it was interesting that it was built by Champion Labs, of course WAY before Champion and Fram jumped into bed together. I also thought the fact that it catches dirt down to .000014 of an inch might be stretching the facts a little, LOL. I would have like to have them verify how they got that spec, but now it's just nostalgic filter porn.

Cool old find. Yeah, that's pretty crazy ... because 0.000014 inch = 0.3556 microns.

Who knew sub micron nano full flow oil filters were around in the 70's, made by Champ labs too. Registering the Kleener trademark was very smart too, and the guy who thought of it was sure it was going to be the next Kleenex.
