Video of pileup by Ames. My route to work.

Looks like a case of fast moving traffic going into a snowy white out area of the road. Same thing happens when traffic suddenly goes into a thick fog bank and people slow way down due to poor visibility, all the while fast moving traffic keeps entering the fog bank. Bad situation and usually leads to a huge pile up, even outside the white out area or fog bank while cars keep piling up.

THIS ^^^^

MOST people will not "knowingly" drive into a potentially fatal situation.....

I could see the accident from my office window...not pretty.

This happened around lunch time...and there is not really a "rush hour" here in the middle of Iowa. My commute takes ~15 minutes no matter what time I decide to come or go.
