I expect nothing less, or different, from the punks dealerships hire. Reason #358 that I avoid them whenever possible.

This is why I try to do virtually all maintenance myself. And when I do take it, I ensure I document all the mileage and watch what's going on.

Not the first time and certainly not the last.

Anyone remember this video? STI owner takes his vehicle in. Tech does a "test drive" while purposely making sure he can hit every pot hole possible.

'One of the techs inside is overheard saying “got that one’” and “with a bit of luck we'll burst the tire, then maybe he'll f***ing mend the lane.”'

Probably not, but I'd be pretty ticked if someone flogged my car and used it to endanger the lives of others. The dealership probably isn't losing anything on this deal.
I'd be upset but I wouldn't expect a new car. If the car is unharmed it's unharmed.

"Sorry that happened, the tech has been suspended, here's a free Corvette golf bag" is a more appropriate response IMHO.

Maybe if it was a Corolla. But a lot of people save up over a long time to be able to afford their dream car, and to see someone you're paying to service your vehicle, abusing it, I think they have every right to be pissed.

Mad, yes. Like I said, I get it.

I just don't see why the dealer gave him a new car. And I wouldn't expect one.

Some people run their business where they don't try to maximize every penny of profit. They're happy to make slightly less overall (still plenty for themselves) but to have a satisfied customer base. It's funny, but because of that action I'd happily give him my business now because I know he'll do the right thing in the end. It's not always a matter of "does one have to do something".

Even without taking current used prices into account, I doubt they'll even feel this in their bottom line.

Look at it this way. If they treat brand new Corvettes this way, how will they treat your Cruze, Traverse, Silverado....etc.?

140+ whatever isn't stressing anything in a vette. It actually properly seated the piston rings. Should be a $90. service surcharge even.

I was a valet for the fanciest Country Club in town when I was in high school. The temptation was always there, the worst I did was go around 80 in an almost new Acura NSX. Most of the time it was Caddys and Mercedes, but those big v8s were fun to floor as well. :ROFLMAO:
