Vette falls off the lift..

That’s too funny lol. We had someone at my work drop one off a Jack and onto the lift arm so it crushed the side skirts, the floor pan, and damaged a little of the fender if I remember correctly. They fired him for that it was his second day on the job too.

Why and how would someone literally take everything out of the front...engine, suspension, and not think that it wouldn’t fall? This has to be BS...a click grab.

Did you put that on your resume when you went job hunting after being fired so the next employee knew you may be accident prone?

hahahahahaha! gottcha!! :ROFLMAO:

:p

You have to strap the front of C5, C6, & C7 Corvettes to the front lift arms when removing the engine/subframe. And the Lift Arms have to LOCK in position when raised!
Same goes for pulling the Transmission/Torque Tube/Differential/Subframe from the rear!

Cheapskate shop owner buying cheap equipment & hiring cheap/unexperienced employees. I worked at a GM dealer when the C5 came out.....If you wanted to do more than basic maintenance on them.....You had to go to training, My dealer flew 2 of us to Detroit. Not that-that would be required today.

I have been in auto repair nearly 40 years and did not know the things you mentioned.

"hiring cheap/inexperienced employees"
A common problem right now. Companies are hiring anyone with a pulse, and turnover rates are astronomical. Amazon's turnover rate for hourly associates is about 150% a year.
I went to Walmart on Friday morning to purchase a hunting/fishing license and couldn't get any help, it took me the better part of an hour just to find an employee. The employee that I finally found said that the store is about 40% understaffed and many employees are working double shifts. The shelves were not stocked, the store was a mess, and the few checkouts that were open had very long lines.
There is a Pizza Hut near me that says this on their marquee... "hiring delivery drivers, $24/hr plus tips". Even though I'm retired, for that kind of money I'm half tempted.

Why would I cry, it a junker Corvette that after it is repaired, some schmoe Tony will punch and curb it hotdogging it leaving a Wendy's or Aroma Joe's.

It tipped slowly, If he really didn't want it to fall, he should have grabbed onto something up front and yelled
" Help Help!" I could see myself doing that :) Embarrassing!

And people wonder why I change my own oil.
We have a Land Cruiser specialist down the street. My cousin told me yesterday that his buddy brought them his 100 series for an oil change. Dude drained the oil and never refilled it and blew the engine 😂

It sucks but you had one job.
