Aren't American companies still buying Venezuelan oil?

The aircraft was illegally exported from the United States to Venezuela, violating U.S. export control and sanctions laws. Specifically, the allegations include:
  1. Illegal purchase of the aircraft: The aircraft was allegedly purchased for $13 million using a shell company to conceal the involvement of those affiliated with Maduro.
  2. Smuggling of the aircraft: The aircraft was illegally exported from the U.S. to Venezuela via the Caribbean in violation of U.S. sanctions and export control laws.
These actions violate Executive Order 13884, which prohibits transactions with individuals acting on behalf of the Venezuelan government, and export controls for items intended for Venezuelan military use.
