Actually, that's a '69.

I have a '68 Skylark Custom convertible and some of the differences are:

Rear side marker lights are square on '69, round on '68
The three front fender trim lines are vertical on a '69, horizontal on '68
The fact that it has headrests.
'69 had no triangular vent windows.
'69 has the third backup light in the rear bumper.
'69 has the key in the steering column instead of the dashboard.
Plastic part of the grille is different.

I believe in '69 they also dropped the 2-speed ST300 transmission for the TH350.

That is a beautiful example and is obviously treated well. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the correction! I didn't research this at all, just went (incorrectly) with my intuition. I know Chevvies a lot better, and those front side markers screamed "1968" at me. I should have caught at least the headrests and the column-mounted ignition.

And THAT, is what Buicks used to be! Thank you for a picture of a fine automobile. Unfortunately they rusted away decades ago.

Back in the day when they made real cars. And no ports. I'm not sure what to think about taking the vinyl roof off and painting, but leaving the trim, but it's still very nice.

Same for me. Only it would be Mopar before Buick/Olds/Pontiac.

One of the first muscle cars I considered buying was a 1968 Buick GS400 with 22K one owner miles. Around $8K-$10K as a I recall back in 1992. As it turned out, I bought a rust free, matching #'s, 1969 roadrunner 4 speed with 51K miles for $3000...engine freshly rebuilt too. I always what happened to that Buick I passed up? Buick GS400/GSX and Olds 442's were always some of my favorites.

I drove a nearly new one of those for a couple of days. It was a dealer loaner, while my parents' troublesome '64 LeSabre was being repaired again. It had the 2-speed.
