Out for a walk with friends a few days ago, and spotted this beautifully restored '59 El Camino. The original powertrain has been replaced by a 350 crate motor/4-speed automatic. Talked to the owner who did the work over four years. He farmed out the body and paint to a friend, but did the mechanical work himself.

Sweeeet … did she idle like rumpity rumpity rumpity?

Sounded nice with whatever exhaust system he'd used - but I doubt the cam in the crate motor was anything too wild.

I always considered the '59 model of the Camino the ugly duckling but that one is indeed a swan. Very classy.

Are those fuzzy dice hanging from the mirror?
