COMMENTS
Universal averages for Kia's 1.6L GDI engine are shown in the far right column, based on an average
oil change of ~5,800 miles of oil use. You're getting a little more metal than average, but you're also running
a longer-than-average oil change, so that's not a problem. In fact, on a per-mile basis, metals are right on
target, as the wear-rates (ppm/mile) are pretty similar to averages. We found some fuel at 0.8%, but that's
not a problem, and there are no other contaminants we can see. The TBN is still good at 2.2, so 7,500 miles
(or even longer!) is fine.

Well the oil held it's viscosity up well. Fuel is a touch high but not that bad at all. The oil did good.

Yes, I forgot to mention that. Previous run was old formula Valvoline SynPower, and before that Valvoline Conventional... so the elevated sodium levels aren't surprising.

Good there. Wondering why insolubles were at 0.4. I've seen 0.1 or 0.2. Could have something to do with soot agglomeration. I'd switch to a Fram Ultra to try to get that number down next time.
Valvoline is a good choice in oil, no doubt.
