Valvoline Premium vs Valvoline Synpower

I don't see a significant difference between these two oils. The conventional Valvoline is using that new ashless ca as an additive. Maybe Mannix can chime in and see if Synpower uses it also.

Are you talking about Premium Blue Extreme? There are two different grades of Premium Blue - both diesel, one conventional and one likely GIII and higher.

If you are comparing 5w40 Synpower to PBE, Synpower only carries diesel rating up to API CF, PBE is CI4+, as of now according to website. TBN of Synpower is 7, PBE is 12. PBE doesn't list any ACEA specs, but best guess it would be E2 or E4 if it did, Synpower is C3.

Premium Conventional is Group II+ and Synpower is Group III (I think)

Well, if conventional Valvoline (formerly known as All Climate) is that good, it's a great deal. I would hope that Synpower is the better oil, but for many cars, it may not make a significant difference to use Synpower over Premium Conventional.

Not to throw a monkey wrench here.. but which has better specs between Pennzoil & Valvoline? Both dino as well as syn comparo would be nice..

If you look on the respective web sites, you should find the product data. At least Valvoline has it. Then you can post it in a new thread. I'm sure it will generate considerable discussion and look forward to it.
