So Blackstone lab is saying that this conventional/dino oil can run 8000 miles?

I do about 60% highway too, and never redlining my Yaris. Plus i got about 30 quarts of NextGen from AAP

i miss those sales lol ...

I also feel that 8k is pushing it based on the results of this report but the previous run of 5k (also on VNG) showed a higher TBN of 2.7 and Blackstone recommended a similar interval next time.

I don't see any reason to run it longer then 5k simply because its FREE! Why push it? It's not like I'm trying to get my money's worth out of it...

The TAN/TBN of the past two OCI caught my eye. Despite similar mileage, they are pretty far off.

Was there any difference in driving styles or mechanical problems?? Was the oil ran low to prevent a last minute top off??

those were two very different oils. The last run was with VNG where as the OCI before that @ 94k was with Amsoil's "Signature Series" oil after 10k miles. That is the reason for the difference in TAN.
