** EDIT Oil tested is Valvoline Model # 881055 ( 5 Gal box branding "Full Synthetic With MST") 5W30 at 30,900 KM **

I recently bought a 2017 wagon because it was one of the last models without the mild hybrid engine. I took it to a nearby Valvoline oil change place to get a quick change in. I am doing it myself now. Next two runs will be PPE 5w-40. My main concern in this engine is rod bearing wear. Hopefully the slightly higher viscosity of the PPE keeps that in check,.

Results seem fine. I like the Lubrizol additives in Valvoline oils. It will be interesting to see how this compares to the GTL PPE. Rarely tested oil so I thought I'd post it.

I re-checked my bill. Although its product description is Euro the product number 881055 is actually for a "With MST" Full Synthetic. It appears to be a Euro spec oil in a 5 gallon box which makes sense from a quick lube operation. I'm not sure what Valvoline calls this in a retail jug.

I re-checked my bil. Although its product description is Euro the product number is actually for Syn-Power MST which I had never heard of. It appears to be a Euro spec oil as well. I can seem to edit the original post. If Mods delete it, I will repost with accurate info.
no need to repost; I'll open up the edit window and you can fix it

“Full synthetic” charge: $79.99
“Euro oil” charge: $22.48
“Synthetic oil charge” $30

Unreal. 🤦🏻‍♂️
I was thinking the same thing… don’t forget the $25 for “special oil filter charge”… what the heck! It’s an oil change like millions of other vehicles. My take on that place:
