I have my Garmin dash cam wired into the interior fuse box in my CR-V. It's way better and cleaner of an install this way, plus that's how the parking mode works. It can detect motion or impacts and begins recording when I'm not there. You can select either or both modes. When I used it with the impact detection, it records when I close the door, so it's plenty sensitive.

Lets be real.

Unless the city worker filed a false police report, nothing will be made her lying. And even if she did, most prosecutors wouldn't waste their time on it.

I would argue the cops giving the 22 year old bad vibes can be a tactic to get someone to admit fault. Cops have to be blunt and rude sometimes to do their job. It doesn't mean they were going to side with the city worker and write the 22 year old a ticket if he didn't have the incident on video.
