I am about to reboot my CV axels with Red Line Synthetic CV-2 Grease and want to know how much is enough? The boot kits come with small 4oz packets of the black nasty grease with one packet per boot. Do I use the same amount of CV-2 or more? I can not remove all of the old grease from the outer joint, will the new CV-2 play nice with the old stuff? What ever I have left over will be used on ball joints, tie rod ends, and bearings.

I usually use 6oz in the inner and 7oz in the outer. Use brake cleaner to get the old grease out.
A Subaru OE grease pack for the inner is 160 grams (5.6oz) the outer a little more.

Thank you for the amounts. I thought those little packs looked light.
They are for many applications. The company I get the poly boots from includes 2 packets of grease.
