Using Gas with 2-Cycle Oil in My Chevy

Let's say I had a gallon of 87 octane unleaded with an appropriate amount of 2-cycle oil in it in my garage.
What would happen if I ran that gas in my '96 Chevy Caprice Classic, instead of the Ryobi weed whacking device that I actually use that gas in?
I was thinking about this when I recently had to return a weed whacker with a full tank of gas in it. Due to a lack of an appropriate empty container, I had to return it with the tank full, rather than siphoning the fuel off an using it in the replacement whacker.

It won't hurt it one bit. I often run old 2 cycle gas in other 4 cycle equipment.

I wouldn't run it in a newer vehicle that has a catalyic converter. The small amount of oil in a trimmer tankful of gas is so little that it probably won't hurt anthing as long as there is 5+ gallons of reg in the car already. My grandfather poured five gallons of mix from his boat into his car inorder to make it back from the lake. The car ran but he ruined the cat and almost set the car on fire from the cat overheating.

I do it all the time in my Jeep...no problems with the cat.

Any high mileage car will burn more oil from the crankcase than what the ratio would be if you poured a gallon of mix into a full tank of gas.
